We're back with our first product update post of 2023! Well, technically it's the December 2022 post, but it's our first product update of the year 🙂 Even with the inevitable Christmas holiday slowdown, we still managed to ship some nice updates to Squeaky last month, so below you'll find a summary highlighting the key improvements to the Squeaky product during December 2022.

Multi-language Sentiment Surveys

Over 2022 we rolled out multi-language support for NPS® Surveys and our consent widget, and we found time at the end of the year to also introduce multi-language Sentiment Surveys. You can now choose which languages you wish to support, with your visitors being shown the language that matches their browser language settings.

We've already included Czech, Dutch, English, French, German, Polish, Spanish, and Swedish translations, and you can request any new language you like by emailing us via hello@squeaky.ai.

Chart and analytics improvements

Following the November chart update that introduced Bar Chart views for the first time, we've rolled out several other small improvements and one brand new chart time.

World map for locations chart

Long requested and finally delivered: a world map view to accompany your location data! Now, alongside your location table, you'll find a world map offering a visual display of the location of your audience on a per-country basis:

Other chart improvements

  • We've added default settings for each chart, so you'll automatically see the most appropriate chart type for any given data (bar vs. line chart), but you can still change the settings to your liking.
  • We've added logarithmic scaling the to Time of Day chart, and the new World Map chart so that you can get a better reading of your data.
  • We updated the layout of the Audience tab in Site and Page analytics, this was partly to better accommodate the new world map chart, but we also improved the information density and layout for our language and browser tables too.

New email reminder for recording limits

When you've reached the recording limit for your plan in Squeaky we always let you know via email, but to ensure you have time to upgrade before having gaps in your data we've added a new email reminder when you've reached 80% of your recording limit for a given month.

Added tooltips in the page filter

When you've got a lot of long URLs, it's not always clear which is which when you're scrolling through the pages filter component. To improve this we've now added tooltips on hover:

Added a period filter component to the Visitors Page

Historically the Visitors page has shown you a list of every single (anonymous by default) visitor to your site since you first started using Squeaky. This works well for small businesses, but for our larger clients, the performance implications are non-trivial.

To improve the performance of the Visitors page we've now added a period/date component so that you'll see only the visitors that have been active within the past 14 days by default. You can increase the date range to still access all your visitor data when needed.

This small change has improved the loading speed for the Visitors page for some of our larger customers by as much as 13x.

And that was it, the last important product updates from 2022. Looking back through past product updates following our public launch in April, it's hard to believe how far we've come, but we'll be pushing even harder in 2023, continuing on our mission to offer the best privacy-first analytics suite in the world.
